The Molten BG3000 Series 2 is a completely new generation of the BG3000 and should not be confused with the original BG3000.

The biggest change is the outer material. Molten has moved away from the material used on the original BG3000 and introduced a new surface using the same type of material found on the previous-generation GF Series — a surface that was particularly well-loved by players for its soft, tacky feel and excellent grip.

The result is a basketball with a familiar premium feel for players who loved the old GF Series, combined with the updated design and construction of the new BG3000 Series 2.
